Who are Allen, Liz and Emily anyway?

What are we like?

Well, Allen is a transplanted Texan who loves the diversity and energy of Southern California, where he can always find something new and interesting. He takes Emily along with him whenever he can. He's also been a Community Leader for GeoCities' Heartland online neighborhood. When he's not busy playing with Emi, you might find him listening to any kind of music or relaxing with a good book, or even working (at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory). But he enjoys cooking more than just about anything else (current favorite: whatever's easy to make with a toddler around!).

Liz before ... ... and now!
Liz in her much-beloved ocean kayak!

Liz helps to keep California's water clean at the State Water Resources Board. This makes sense ... she loves swimming, snorkeling and cycling, as well as her kayak (which helps when running around after a high-energy kid like Emily!). Like most geologists, she loves the outdoors, and so does Emily, who always asks to go "OUT?" with her. You might also find her relaxing in the back yard hot tub.

We probably aren't the best people to tell you about Emily ... we're really not objective! She's smart, affectionate and knows how cute she is (VERY!). She loves to be around people and says "hi" and "thank you" and even gives them besitos (little kisses) if they're really nice to her. And, let's see, she also likes dogs and cats and soap bubbles. Allen is responsible for introducing her to salsa music, and Liz taught her to say, "No!" It's a good word to know and she doesn't use it too much yet.
