Your Due Date

Your due date will soon become the center of your world. That is approximately when the bundle of joy you have so patiently waited for will be arriving. It is fairly simple to calculate your due date. Using Naegle's Rule, simply take your last menstrual period and minus 3 months and add 7 days.
For example: If your last menstrual period was July 6, 1996, then your due date would be April 13, 1997. (7-3=4 and 6+7=13) Remember, this is only an estimated due date for your baby. It is not guaranteed that your baby will arrive on that day. In fact, only about 5% of all babies arrive on their due date. The other 95% arrive anytime from 2 weeks before to 2 weeks after your due date. This is perfectly normal.

If you are a first-time mom-to-be, expect to be around 8 days post-due. If you are a pro at this, expect to be about 2-3 days post-due. If you are having trouble calculating your due date or want to be sure you are correct, see the Gestational Age Calculator.
