Welcome to Jimmy Liem's Home Page

Hello and welcome to my corner of the universe. Come on in - there's no need to wipe your feet; I never sweep up the place anyway. Before you leave, please sign my guestbook and/or fill out my Feedback Form.

I've been able to con, er, I mean entice Have your stay count! Load this image! people into coming here since I started counting on May 19, 1996.

A Couple of Obligatory Quotes:

"I'm so glad you came here, it won't be the same now I'm telling you"
-George Harrison, "Old Brown Shoe" (1969)

"Man, why don't the airlines play comedies or action movies on their flights?"
-Jimmy Liem, June 8, 1996.
-Comments of a weary traveler just after having been on six plane trips in two weeks, including five within six days, two of which were seven hours long.

A Brief Biography

FlagIf you haven't been able to figure it out by now, my name is Jimmy Liem. I live in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. (Pictures of my fair city are below.) I'm in the accounting option of the undergraduate program at the Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration at The University of British Columbia. That's right, I'm an budding accountant (boy, that's just what the world needs - another one of those…).

Nominees for Mayor of Vancouver (1996)
There wasn't a fee to enter last year's elections, so political heavyweights such as Yummy Girl, Bugger, Frank The Moose, Zippy The Circus Chimp, and Barb E. Doll entered into the race.
If you want to know how everyone fared, view the Election Results.
Apparently, before you could get on the ballot, you needed to show identification. I guess the bureaucrats down at city hall weren't too picky about what kind of identification was needed.

My CD Collection
(a.k.a. My attempt to make it onto the Useless WWW Pages. Perhaps someone out there will get me put onto The Uselessness of Music list)
Extraordinarily Useless! - That's right, it's not just any ordinary CD list; on top of giving the title of each disc, it also gives the track listing and serial number of each disc!
A useless fact! - Those of you who are really astute should notice that the vast majority of the songs in my CD collection are older than I am!

Accounting
A semi-official guide to the Accounting option of the Bachelor of Commerce program at the University of British Columbia.

Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
One of my all-time favorite songs (its by the Beatles for those of you who didn't know). No one I know seems to be able to make out the chorus (correctly), so I typed out the words to the song here.
Fabulous Multimedia! - You may be able to hear the song when you load this page up.
Want more than just one lousy song? Visit The Beatles Jukebox.

Starmap
A map of the Milky Way Galaxy, as it will be in the 24th Century (in the Star Trek Universe).

My Schedule
Dual Purposed! - If you don't want to see what I do all day, you can see the results of one of my first attempts at making tables with HTML. (last year's schedule)

My Picture
Ouch, this link doesn't seem to be working. Well, it looks like I've never stood beside a scanner, while at the same time holding a picture of myself and having the nerve to actually reproduce my visage for world. The sad thing about all this is that I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon, especially since I don't have ready access to a scanner. For those of you who are really itching to see a photo of somebody, I have a picture of Michael Campbell here.
(Maybe this doesn't belong in a section called "What's Available Here")

Jimmy's Links to Other Places
Hey, what personal home page would be complete without a copious amount of links?
This is probably the only useful thing here. A sad fact, isn't it?
