Biography: My name is Hala Kamel. I am an English teacher and I
work as a vice-principal at Khawla Bent Al-Azwar School in Aqaba. I am also a
member of world links group in Aqaba. Reflections: I really benefited from the workshops; I attended
with other colleagues here in Aqaba. I should admit the great efforts of the
coordinator of this successful program Hala Taher which collaborated with the
hard work of our trainer and supervisor Mr. Ahmad Al Omari. Thanks to these
workshops, I could make a website, which enabled others to contact me and
have a look at some of my activities. A part from enhancing my skills in
using the computer, these workshops gave me the chance to exchange my ideas
and experiences with other teachers inside and outside Aqaba. Using Technology in Teaching: Supervisors, school directors and |
teachers
aim at enhancing Ss` ability to learn independently. Working on line, group
work, brainstorming and searching the internet for specific information are
some of the successful techniques we practised as members of world links
group. As a vice-principal, I usually visit the teachers in my school “Khawla
Bent Al-Azwar” and comment on their work and teaching techniques. Thus, I
encouraged them to use the p.p.t. for preparing their lessons and look for
extra information in the internet. I also directed them to use group work,
brainstorming and other effective techniques in order to enhance Ss` thinking
abilities. English project: “The Simple Past &
The Present Perfect”: I
worked with other English teachers (Nabeela Morsi and Eyad Ayyash) in making
an English project comparing between the simple past and the present perfect |
present perfect. We engaged a number of students in
our work who were divided into groups. Ss` work in Khawla Bent Al-Azwar
