The English language group

Title of the project: Present perfect and simple past

 

Objectives:

1.    To explain the difference between the two tenses.

2.    To form correct English sentences using both tenses

3.    To describe actions in daily life using the correct tense.

4.    To enhance the speaking and writing skills.

5.    To increase creativity.

6.    To increase self-confidence.

7.    To increase the ability to communicate with others.

8.    To use modern technology in order to achieve goals.

9.    To practise communicating via the Internet.

 

Audience: 10th Grade students.

 

Target: The subject is related to the tenth grade curriculum.

 

Activities:

1) Searching the Internet for sites related to the subject.

2) Writing reports and giving references.

3) Gathering different types of articles from newspapers and magazines to explain the usage of both tenses.

4) Writing short paragraphs using both tenses.

5) Acting a play showing the difference between the two tenses.

 

Schedule: 15/2/2004-30/4/2004.

1.    Weeks 1+2 (group 1 will accomplish activity 1).

2.    Weeks 3+4(group 2 will submit their findings based on activity 2).

3.    Weeks 5+6(group 1 will finish activity 3).

4.    Weeks7+8(group2 will submit their paragraphs according to activity 4).

5.    Weeks9+10(Both groups will act a play according to activity 5).

 

Teachers` Role:

1.Dividing students into two groups according to the tasks required.

2.Guiding students to the best way to achieve their goals.

3.Revising students` works.

4.Supplying Ss with names of websites to visit while doing their tasks.
