| First Light Drum is a traditional native Drum, awakened in ceremony March 7, 1992. The Drum had been singing for approximately three years prior to being awakened. The Drum is the heartbeat of the people, We sing for the people, We go where the people call upon the Drum, where The Drum is honored and respected. We live by the prayers that the Drum was awakened with. We are a Unity Drum - men, women, children, grandmothers and grandfathers have sat and will continue to sit at our Drum. Our commitment is to the people. |

| The Drum has a continuous rotation of people that sing . most of us are of mixed blood, some of us can prove our heritage, some of us can not, We are ALL Honored to sing with The Drum. |
| The First light Drum has been singing at pow wows, gatherings, socials, celebrations, ceremonies, etc. through out all seasons. we do not accept payment for ourselves. Money we raise through raffles, auctions and donations is given back to the people. |
