A casestudy approach is taken to explore the laws, the customs and the activities surrounding decisions effecting historic buildings. The study was completed as partial requirement for the Master of Architecture degree at the University of Kansas. The book was accepted for publication by the Preservation Press of the National Trust of Historic Preservation in 1992. There are over one hundred colorful photographs available for exihibits. Some of the structures photographed are no longer standing. It is divided into three cross-cultural theme groups:
