Be Your Own Electricity Provider: Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BI-PV) Systems for Industrial, Commercial and Residential Applications

Offered At
UCI

Course Description
Consumers, teachers, investors, entrepreneurs, scientists, policy-makers, engineers, architects, builders and professional service providers will benefit from this seminar by enhancing their knowledge of solar cell technology and the application of photovoltaic (PV) systems. This seminar provides a review of the various types of electric generation from the traditional fossil, nuclear and hydro fuels to the product-driven demand-site generation of solar electric building materials. Participants learn about photovoltaics (PV) and how it is used and integrated into structures. An overview of solar cell technology, PV products, related manufacturers and PV industry organizations is presented to acquaint the participants with the photovoltaic technology as an alternative energy source for industrial, commercial and residential sites. This photovoltaics technology study is enhanced by product exhibits, Internet demonstrations and workbook exercises.
