For Further Information Please contact Eileen M. Smith, M. Arch. by E-Mail: bi_pv@yahoo.com or by phone at 714-862-5826. This information has been submitted to the Orange County Department of Education Office and a schedule of events established with Phyllis Baurembaum for disbursement. If you know of a school that has not received this announcement, please send them a copy by facsimile and/or alert me and I will contact them, directly. Thank you for your cooperation in this regard. The poster contest is intended to compliment existing photovoltaics study activities. Special projects students should learn about are the Million Solar Rooftops In USA 1997-2010 Program and the California Energy Commission's Renewables Technology Program. The recent request submitted on June 5th, 1998 to President Bilas of the California Public Utilities Commission by Michael D. McNamara, Chief of their Office of Ratepayer Advocates at my request and on the behalf of all electricity consumers is an important issue in BI-PV industry development and consumer rights. It is also a process of government where students of all ages may become formally involved by writing a letter declaring their intent to be a cosigner of the letter and statement presented to President Bilas requesting the CPUC open an Order Instituting Rulemaking (OIR) into the Utility Distribution Company's (UDC) role in distributed generation (DG).

If you would like to explore additional educational activities such as related field trips and/or having a speaker; please let me know. Visit our WebSite to find a number of educational links including a Suggested Readings list and a Fun Facts page. I would like BI-PV bibliograpies and educational resources to evolve from the Orange County Solar Winter Gala along with a new awarness of the energy industry. The primary goal is to inform, explore BI-PV energy, discover the BI-PV industry and organize related information about BI-PV.

Thank you for your cooperation in making this activity a success for Orange County youth and businesses as we set a model of progressive BI-PV deployment for the Nation and for a global community.

      Best Regards!

      Eileen M. Smith,M.Arch.
