Mr. Perfect's WWF Biography

Mr. Perfect actually started out in the WWF in the late 1970's, as a jobber. He along with Eddie Gilbert frequently jobbed to then champion Bob Backlund. Whether Bob taught him a thing or two about wrestling, we don't know, but I do know it went mostly up-hill from there. After making a name for himself in the AWA, Perfect came back to the WWF with high hopes. His first big break was being in a survivor series team at Survivor Series, 1988. In that match, Curt took a big amount of of punishment and dished out some of his own. In the end, Only a battered Jake "The Snake", "Ravishing" Rick Rude, andJake RobertsMr. Perfect were left. Jake had taken an enormous beating from Andre the Giant, so he was easy picking's the the Perfect one. Perfect did an excellent job of hooking both legs to secure the win. He was among the sole survivor's of his team. Thus began the Mr. Perfect legacy. At Wrestlemania 5, he Perfect vs Blazerwas put to the test by The Blue Blazer, Owen Hart. Would his undefeated streak come to an end? No. He Perfect-plexed his way to a three-count. Next stop: Summerslam '89. He was matched against the Red Rooster, Terry Taylor. Once again, Perfect showed us he has what it takes to be a star in the WWF, by breezing through The Rooster. The Survivor Series'89 was no exeption for the Perfect one. He was the sole survivor on his team, and in the match. He won by Perfect-Plexing "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka. In the Royal Rumble '90, Perfect had a chance to strive exellence by being the Royal Rumble Winner. out of 30 men, Mr. Perfect placed 2nd. An astounding feat. During that Pay-Per-View, Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake had attacked The Genuis, which was not to The Perfect one's liking. He immediately ambushed The Barber with chairs. This set up on of the few Perfect defeat's at Wrestlemania 6 at the hands of the Barber. Subsequently, at Wrestlemania 6, The Ultimate Warrior became WWF champion and had to forfeit his Intercontinental Belt. This set up an 8 man tournament to decide the winner. In the finals if the tourney, were Mr. Perfect and Tito Santana. The match ended with Bobby Heenan annoying Santana, and Perfect came from behind to small package him, to become the New WWF Intercontinental Champion. His reign would last 126 days until Summerslam '90, where he lost the belt to The Texas Tornado, Kerry Von Erich. Kerry was relatively unknown then, and the match was signed just days before Summerslam. Perfect was furious. He wanted a return match. At Survivor Series '90, hisDouble Team! team went up against the Ultimate Warrior's team. He was the last man standing on his team, but still lost the match. But, in the process, he eliminated The Texas Tornado, thus setting a new Intercontinental Match between the 2 men. The 2 men met there-after, and with the help of Ted DiBiase, Perfect was once again I-C champ. 86 days after Mr. Perfect lost the belt, he regained it. He would keep the belt for 280 days. In that spread he faced a big amount of challenger's, from "Rowdy Roddy" Piper, to the British Bulldog. None of them good enough to beat the Flawless one. One of his biggest challenges, was against the Big Boss Man at Wrestlemania7. The 2 met in a grueling match. Which ended in a DQ win for the Boss Man, after Heenan's "family" started pummeling the Boss Man. SharpshooterNo one was able to best Perfect.....Until Summerslam 1991 rolled along, and he lost to Bret "Hitman" Hart. Perfect was suffering a bit of back problem's before the match. When Bret synched in the Sharpshooter, a hold that targets the lower-back, Perfect had no choice but to submit. Shortly after this match, Perfect left the WWF due to a severe back injury. The doctors told him he may never wrestle again, but doctor's are not always right....Perfect came back as an Executive Consultant to Ric Flair. They were a great team, but a fallout was imminent. Prior to Survivor Series 1992, The "Macho Man" Randy Savage needed a tag partner to wrestle with him against Ric Flair and Razor Ramon. Savage thought that a "Perfect" choice would be Mr. Perfect. He wanted Mr. Perfect to be his partner. Bobby Heenan was furious, and spoke for Perfect, saying no way will Perfect wrestle with you. Perfect was getting mad that Heenan was talking for him, so Perfect agreed to be his partner. Heenan got mad, slapped Perfect, but then, Perfect spilled water over Heenan's weasel head! Perfect and Savage went on to win the match by DQ over Flair and Razor Ramon. At this time, Flair was furious. At Royal Rumble 1993, Perfect made Flair even more furious by eliminating him from the Battle Royal. The next day on Monday Night Raw, The 2 met in a "Loser Leaves WWF Match". This match was vintage Perfect, as he pinned Flair, and Flair was forced to forfeit his WWF career. Perfect had just defeated one of the most respected wrestler's ever in professional wrestling. Perfect was back in full force. He went on to fight The Narcissist, Perfect vs LugerLex Luger at Wrestlemania 9. The match was a great one, with each giving punishing maneuvers to the other. The match ended with Lex Luger doing a backslide, and the ref did not see Perfect's feet on the ropes, and counted to three anyway. Perfect then, got up, But Luger bolted Perfect with his steel-plated elbow, which knocked him unconscious. When Perfect awakened, He went to find Luger, found him, and started pounding on him, until Shawn Michaels came to Lex's aid, and started pummeling Perfect. This set up Mr. Perfect's last PPV match to date in the WWF. Him against Shawn for the Intercontinental Belt at Summerslam '93. But before this match, the WWF introduced a new Pay-Per-View, called the King of The Ring. Perfect entered the tourney with high hopes. He beat Mr. Hughes by DQ in the first round, but who was waiting for him in the second?...Bret Hart. The 2 fought with all there might. In the end, Perfect went for a small package ,Bret reversed, got a three count. Perfect was very upset, but still shook The Hitman's hand in the end. The Hitman went on to win the King of The Ring. Now, the topic in Mr. Perfect's mind was to get revenge Perfect vs HBKon Shawn Michaels, and win the I-C belt. On a Monday Night Raw a couple of months before the legendary match, Perfect confronted Shawn outside the arena and starting knocking him senseless. We knew then that he way ready for the match. Then, Summerslam finally came along. The Perfect vs Michaels match was hyped up to be the best Intercontinental match since the Don Muraco and Pedro Morales feuds. Had it not been for Diesel,DieselMr. Perfect would have three-peated the Intercontinental Belt. Shawn threw Perfect to the outside, where Diesel started pounding on Perfect, and Shawn was distracting the Ref. Perfect got counted out, but found Diesel in the dressing room after the match, and tried to start a fight with Diesel, but the ref's broke it up. Perfect once again, with back problems, left until Wrestlemania10, where he was a special guest referee for the Yokozuna-Lex Luger match. Mr. Perfect remembered Lex all too well. All us Perfect fans did. When Lex went for a pin, Perfect wouldn't count. Lex pushed Perfect, Perfect Disqualified him. Lex lost the match. Revenge is sweet, especially for us Mr. Perfect fans! He never returned since, until Survivor Series 1995, where he made a return in fine fashion. He has been commentating ever since. He was also picked to be the special guest referee at King of the Ring 1996 for the Shawn Michaels, British Bulldog match for the WWF title. After a couple of months ofPerfect & Helmsleycontinous commentating, he started a feud with Hunter Hearst Helmsley, by stealing his women from ringside. Hunter got really mad, and challenged Perfect, who accepted. The match was to take place October 21st on RAW, but Hunter shoved a cart into Perfect's knee right before the match, so Perfect got Marc Mero to fill in for him. Hunter said he had no obligation to wrestle Marc, and the only way he would wrestle him, was if he put his Intercontinental Title on the line, which he did. Mid-Way through the match, The Ref got hurt, and Hunter grabbed a chair, but Perfect snatched it away from him, and he was about to hit Hunter with the chair... but hit Mero instead. Hunter then gave the pedigree and won the match, and the belt. It seems that it was all a plan between Hunter and Perfect. Perfect was managing HHH, until he left the WWF because of personal conflict a week later. He is currently wrestling with WCW.

Say what you will about Mr. Perfect, but you can't take away the fact that he is one of the best overall wrestlers in the history of wrestling. He has wrestled all of the greats of the mat game, and has actually held his own. For all of you that would say: "Hey, he didn't beat Hulk Hogan, did he!"... Well, YOU'RE WRONG! Prior to Wrestlemania 6, at Madison Square Garden, if you had the chance to see it, you would have seen that Mr. Perfect defeated Hulk Hogan by DQ! "Big deal, it's a DQ" you're thinking?
