***Former WA state rep Graham WATT has become Australian Centurion 48 on 18th April 2004,
following in the footsteps of the 10th Australian Centurion, Stan Jones, who was our coach in Armadale, in the late 1980's and early 1990's.
***Congratulations to Michael McCagh who has represented Western Australia,
AND Australia in the 10km walk (29th in 45.32 in 2004 World Racewalking Cup; Germany).

various international races including the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games, Women's 20km Walk.
***Congratulations to RWCWA member; Daniel Lowe who represented WA in the Open Men's 20km walk at the Australian Championships in Brisbane (March 23 2001)....Daniel later moved to Melbourne... Results here.

---Stan Jones added a few more Masters records to his collection when he won the M75 5km and 10km double in April 2003.
---look out for Michael McCagh, and the Grgurovic sisters; Katarina and Anna, who have posted good times in 2003/2004.
---past champion Suzanne Narbey has been racewalking in a few Perth races in 2003/2004???...as has Masters recordholder John Mison...
---As of 2003/2004; Terry Jones continues to distribute winter racewalking results from Perth on email on a regular basis, as well as judge, organise races etc...
and Rick Cattermole is also still very much involved too.

Australian Mens 20km, U/20 10km, Womens 10km, U/20 5km, Melbourne March 1999
Congratulations to; Andrew Duncan who was 17th (1:33:12.0) in the Men's 20km
and Sara-Jane Cattermole 11th (51.53.0) in the Womens 10km at the recent Australian Championships.
WARWC member Scott Hollaway has walked faster than Don Keane's 45 year old 3km walk record, and finished 2nd in the U/18 event at the recent Nationals in Perth, March 1999. Clay Foster (14.14) and Nyssa Cobby (15.16) performed well in their respective U/18 events. Several RWCWA members also featured in these championships...with Gemma Christie, Shana Cobby, Genevra Cross, Stuart Walker, Michael McCagh, Tristan Hellings, the athletes winning medals in the Under 14 1500m Walks.

Definition of Race Walking:
Race Walking is a progression of steps so taken that the walker makes contact with the ground so that no visible (to the human eyes) loss of contact occurs. The advancing leg shall be straightened (ie. not bent at the knee) from the moment of first contact with the ground until in the vertical upright position.
