Recent Spurs' News

1/29/97

I've been getting a lot of messages asking when David is coming back. For those of you that have asked me because you are playing some stupid fantasy basketball game and want to sign David whenever he gets back, shame on you for trivializing the health and status of such a great person.
For those of you who truly care about his well being:

I've heard estimates ranging from the beginning of February to the beginning of March. I'd bet that it's probably around the middle of February, right after the All-Star break.

You know, even though David is injured, I think he should have been placed on the All-Star team, and the coaches could have easily picked a replacement. Ruining a perfect record of being in All-Star games could have been avoided.

Well, David is down again. This time for another six weeks. The Spurs' first few games without him again are crucial. If they can manage at least 5 wins in their next 9 or 10, they should be in good postion come playoff time. But if they play as they did before David played, it should be the Spurs' first trip to the lottery since they got David.

Keep your fingers crossed!!

David Robinson FINALLY comes back tonight. He's been out the whole season, and the Spurs have missed him. The greatest team ever is a dismal 3-15. They'll still make the playoffs, though. I predict a fouth place finish in the West.

Can you believe the Spurs fired Bob Hill??

I have loved this team for many years, but I'm really getting sick of their management. The firing of Bob Hill is just the most recent of many follies (I think.)

Yes the Spurs haven't played well at all this year. But they are missing the world's best basketball player. That kind of makes a team worse. I think the exectutives should fire all of themselves and let all their bad decisions be anulled!
