GUN CONTROL pg. 1

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who
are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such
laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the
assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent
homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater
confidence than an armed man."
THOMAS JEFFERSON

On the next few pages you will find notes from people concerning, guns, gun control, varying information on the Brady Bill and other things I considered to be either of interest or important.
I have also included the entire Brady Bill, a memo from President Clinton and a Press Briefing on the Brady Bill.  to quickly access the memo, the briefing or the Brady Bill you can go to the bottom of this page where there are links to each of them.      BOTTOM

Here's an interesting story from today's paper.
Today in Baton Rouge, La. Rodney Peairs, 30, a butcher goes for a hearing over a shooting incident at his home. He shot a 16 year old Japanese exchange student, Yoshihiro Hattori, on Oct. 17 of last year. Mr. Hattori was looking for a Halloween party and got mixed up and went to the wrong house. The homeowner mistook him for an intruder and yelled to him to freeze. Mr. Hattori apparently didn't understand and moved towards the homeowner who them shot him in the chest, fatally wounding him.
Now, his parents in Japan have gotten 800,000 Japanese people's signatures on a petition drive to give to Bill Clinton. Their purpose (in their own words):
"The thing we must really despise, even more than the criminal, IS THE AMERICAN LAW THAT PERMITS PEOPLE TO OWN GUNS," the Hattoris wrote in the petition.
The Hattoris and the other signatories want Bill Clinton to push for stringent gun control laws.
While I believe Mr. Peairs is probably guilty of an overreaction, I don't believe he is guilty of a criminal offense. However, a judge and/or jury must decide that after hearing his reasoning. BUT I take great offense at any foreigners trying to dictate what American laws should be. Will Bill Clinton have the backbone to tell them that its none of their business ? I doubt it.

Keep America Free !!! Oppose the NWO/OWSD !!!

The following comes from the industry trade magazine American Firearms, by
Andrew Molchan, Jan. 1993, concerning gun control:
...."The Nazis did exactly the same thing in the 1930's. They pointed to some Jews who supported the 1919 Communist revolution in Germany.  They pointed to some Jews who profited from W.W.I.  Then they made the "hyper-jump" to the point where all Jews were crooks, traitors, war profiteers and enemies of Germany.  The rest is history. ............

An old friend of mine, Aaron Zelman, President of Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership, did some original research.  The kind of reporting all the million-$-a-year "reporters" at the TV networks would do if they were honest. Aaron and Jay Simkin went back to the original 1930's Nazi Weapon Laws that were used to disarm the Jews in Germany. What they found after a good translation was that a good part of the 1930's Nazi laws were taken almost word-for-word and used in the landmark USA Gun Control Act of 1968!  The federal gun laws are in a large part a rewrite of the original Nazi laws.

Also, never reported on in the big media, is the connection between Handgun Control, Inc. and the CIA.  The real founder of Handgun Control, Inc. was Edward C. Wells, who was the Director of Plans for the CIA.  The covert operations branch of the CIA.  A big, early supporter of Handgun Control was CIA chief William Colby.  Was taxpayer money used to start Handgun Control? And for what purpose?"

Interesting post.  I wasn't aware of the NAZI gun control law directed at Jews, but that may be a least a partial explanation for a lack of Jewish assassination attempts on Hitler and only sporadic resistance by Jews. Of course, guns are one thing and high tech weapons are another.  The Kurdish guns are no match for Saddam's helicopters.

Chaz--the day I brought home the gun which I totally disapproved of in the beginning, was a nightmare...After a two week wait and spending over $400 dollars for a gun in order to protect myself against phone threats which were getting all too real; I was arrested and put in jail for carrying  a concealed weapon  upon arriving at a restaurant to get food to take to my beach house. COST/$3500 + gun loss.

Jerome, I agree with you on what you said about our gov't  because our gov't is out of control and it is time for the people to take back our gov't before it is to late, that is, if it is not already to late to do so. You should get a copy of the ANTI-DRUG ABUSE ACT of 1988 because almost everything in it, has very little to do with fighting drug, but, everything to do with taking our freedom away. you should also get a copy of the book; "Gun control Gateway to Tyranny" written by Jay Simkin and Aaron Zelman. The book exposed the American's "Nazi Gun Laws" and startling evidence suggests that the Gun Control Act of 1968 was lifted almost in its entirety, from Nazi legislation. According to JPFO, evidence strongly suggests that the late Sen. Thomas J. Dodd personally implanted the Nazi Weapons Laws into U.S. legislation. What remains unknown are his motives for doing so. (Remainder of this note deleted because it had nothing to do with gun control)

SEN. CHAFEE WANTS BAN ON HANDGUNS NATIONWIDE
United Press International. May 6,1993

WASHINGTON (UPI)---Sen. John Chafee (R-RI) said he wants a law that would require U.S. handgun owners to turn in their pistols and revolvers for $25 or the market value of each firearm as part of a nationwide ban on handgun ownership.
Chafee also wants the national handgun ban to prohibit the sale, purchase, transfer, manufacture, possession, transportation and import and export of handguns and handgun ammunition, he said Wednesday.
Former Supreme Court Justice Warren Burger and former Health Secretary Louis Sullivan joined Chafee in a news conference to announce the ban proposal. Chafee also appeared on Fox Television's "Morning News" to talk about his bill.
"It's affecting our hospital costs in the United States.  Over $4 billion a year is spent by us, the taxpayers, to care for those who are injured by handguns. And it's bringing incredible tragedy to innumerable families. And all too frequently, it's the small child that's affected," Chafee said.
Chafee's proposal would allow some exemptions.
"The exemptions would be for the military, for the police, for licensed handgun clubs, where they are target shooting clubs and the weapons are kept in a secure place, and for licensed protective personnel--security personnel," Chafee said.
He said more than "14,000 people every year in America are killed with guns, and over 80 percent of them are killed with handguns.
"There isn't a country in the world that has anything similar to that. So, what we've got to do is just get these guns out. Is it going to happen overnight? No, it's not. But the way to start on a long journey is to take the first step."
Chafee dismissed as "absolute nonsense" the traditional stand by the National Rifle Association and other smaller, less powerful gun-rights groups that ownership of firearms is a constitutional right guaranteed by the Second Amendment.
"The only thing that the Second Amendment applies to is those who are involved with the militia. It doesn't mean everybody in the United States can walk around with a 9 millimeter packed on his or her hip," Chafee said.
Chafee said handgun owners would be paid $25 for each pistol or revolver they turn in, but that owners who could prove what they paid for their handgun would be reimbursed that amount.
