On the Internet you will see many lies of Chile by deceiving communists and socialists as well from some very badly informed people. Let us introduce you the real truth of Chile in the past and today. Chile is unlike any other Latin American nation. Chile is a modern, highly industrialized nation, with one of the highest standards of living in South America. Chile has one of the longest democratic traditions in South America, having had few military interventions, the latest one lasting for a brief 17 year period. Chile is not a typical bannana republic as we have heard some ignorant people say, first because we are not a tropical country, and because generally it has been a stable country. In Chile, by norm there is no corruption, drugs or mafia, on the contrary, its a stable country, with honest and democratic principles. Chile (along with Argentina, and Uruguay) should not be considered as countries of the so-called "Third World", but as modern western nations finalizing their development stage, very stable and relatively rich (economically speaking). Chile has a population of 14 million, 95% of Chileans being of European and mixed origin. Unfortunately there are very few Indians left, their total number being less than 500,000. Today Chile eis a free democracy, with an open society, where freedom of press is respected, and free from the government. Chile has been a true free-market oriented economic success after 1973, when the Honorable Military Junta implemented these long term reforms (which the country needed at that time) after the "Socialist" devastation. Today, the economic plan introduced by the Military Regime has been continued by the democratic governments, benefitting many Chileans. One can appreciate Chile's economic success even outside the country; Chilean commercial power has expanded to neighboring countries like Peru, Bolivia, and Argentina. Chile is a modern nation walking a path towards a bright future (if those unpatriotic communists don't ruin things again, taking us back to the past). We trust that Chile has matured as a country and taken lesson of the sad "Socialist-Marxist experiment". Here you will see how the Military intervention of 1973 brought with it the development of the nation in all the social and economic fields. The legacy of the Military Government still lives in "To Make Chile a Great Nation".

Here is the 1973 AGREEMENT OF CHAMBER OF DEPUTIES , an official document in which the H. Chamber of Deputies declare the breakdown of democracy in Chile, during Allende's last days. They call for an end to Allende's government abuses and Marxist bullying.
