PLEASE READ THIS WHOLE PAGE BEFORE ADDING YOUR SITE TO THE RING

I have been having problems lately with people adding their pages to the que but not including the HTML code on their sites. Without the code the Ring just doesn't work. As well it is best if the Ring is on your main page and not on a back page or some special ring page of ring sites you belong to.

This web ring is for trade union/syndicalist/labour web pages, indvidual trade unionist/syndicalist/labour activist personal pages, progressive organizations and individuals who focus on workers rights/workplace issues, labour lawyers, labour historians, labour related industrial relations sites, occupational health and safety, affirmative action in the workplace sites.

If your site is "labour/union/worker" related please enter the que. If you are not sure email me and I will review your site.

HOW TO JOIN

CUT AND PASTE THE UNION RING ONTO YOUR HOME PAGE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. YOUR HOME PAGE IS CHECKED FOR IT PRIOR TO ADDING YOU TO THE RING.

Then fill in the form below. Answer all the questions and provide a description of your site. You will be e-mailed an id code, to go along with your password.

Clip and paste the Union Ring onto your home page. I have provided a copy of the HTML code as well. In this code you will find blanks for "YOUR NAME HERE" , "YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS HERE", and for "ID" fill these in.

When you get your ID number add it in the appropriate blanks like so:

Here is an example from my page:

[<a href="http://www.webring.org/cgi-bin/webring?ring=unionring&id=YOUR ID# HERE&prev">Previous</a>] [<a href="http://www.webring.org/cgi-bin/webring?ring=unionring&id=YOUR ID# HERE&random">Random</a>] [<a href="http://www.webring.org/cgi-bin/webring?ring=unionring&id=YOUR ID# HERE&next">Next Site</a>] <BR> [<a href="http://www.webring.org/cgi-bin/webring?ring=unionring&id=YOUR ID# HERE&skip">Skip Next</a>] [<a href="http://www.webring.org/cgi-bin/webring?ring=unionring&id=YOUR ID# HERE&next5">Next 5</a>]

So right after unionring&id=___&prev add your ID# and make sure there is no space between your ID#&prev,&random, etc. Fill in all the___blanks. I have illustrated it above by putting in Your ID# Here to show you where it goes. This allows the "ring to operate" by linking you in sequence with the other pages in the ring.

To add the UNION YES GIF to your page click on it with the right button on your mouse, and 'save image as', then load it into your file server when you are adding the ring code to your page.

GRAPHICS OPTIONS

As you can see we have a new GIF for Union Ring. This creates a truly international flavour for our ring.I'd like to thank Rise Phoenix who created it and submited it for use in the Union Ring. It truly is an internationalist symbol.
This has now become the standard GIF for Union Ring, however you always have the option of using these other gifs as well. For those of you who wish to add a different GIF onto your Union Ring here are the options:

The Canadian Union Yes GIF: unyes1.gif

The AFL-CIO GIF: uyesclr2.gif

Generic Union GIF: unionthb.gif

The Wobbly GIF: unyesiww.gif

Download the GIF then cut and paste it's code in place of the unyesb.gif in the opening line of the HTML code:

<a href="http://www.oocities.org/CapitolHill/5202/unionring.html"> <img src="unyesb.gif" width=100 height=80 border=0></a>
