Filters for Paint Shop Pro (they work with Photoshop too!)

There are tons of filters out there and some of them are really good and some are not. You can always find a use for any filter but, after you start using them for a while you will have your favorites. I personally use Eye Candy 3.0 the most and Kai's Power Tools second most. This page and my Paint Shop Pro Tutorials assume you don't have these filters or simply can not afford them. You can create so pretty awesome effects with Paint Shop Pro and using these filters in with the PSP functions. You can just about recreate any effect a filter does in Paint Shop Pro without filters it just takes a few more steps.

How can I get my filters to work in Paint Shop Pro
Although many of the public plugin filters available on the Internet (Filter Factory plugins etc...) will work with the program, some of them may also need the Adobe Photoshop interface. These filters will only work with Adobe Photoshop. If you own Adobe PhotoShop, you can copy the PLUGINS.DLL file from the PhotoShop directory into your Windows\System directory to access some of these plugins. You may also need an additional Microsoft Visual C Runtime Library file. You can use the link below to download this file called MSVCRT10.ZIP this zip file contains MSVCRT10.DLL. Once downloaded, unzip (extract) MSVCRT10.DLL into the C:\Windows\System directory. You can download WinZip utility to do this. If this file is already there you might want to rename the current file to MSVCRT10.OLD and then copy the new one into the directory.

Download MSVCRT10.DLL Now!

How do I let Paint Shop Pro know that I have my filters?
Once Paintshop Pro is installed start the program. Then you must load a picture into it or open a new file. Then go to File then click Preferences then click General Program Preferences. A requester will open up. Select the tab called PLUGIN FILTERS. There are 2 areas that you can type in called (FOLDER INI Section). You must type in the exact path of where your filters are located. Then press OK. You have to switch between different filters sometimes by repeating these steps and pointing to different filters or locations.
