Maternal grandparents were Joseph ETIENNE and Catherine GEHIN. Paternal grandparent was Catherine BLAISE. Marin had one sister, Celestine (1820-1876) and one brother, Elophe Sr. (1828-????).
Joseph BLAISE
Joseph BLAISE was born on Monday 26 March 1849 in Fellering, a village about 30 km northwest of Mulhouse, France, located in the Alsace-Lorraine Area (Haut-rhin Department). His father was Marin BLAISE (1823-1886) and his mother was Catherine MERKLEN (1820-1886). Paternal grandparents were Jean-Baptiste BLAISE (1795-????) and Catherine ETIENNE (1793-????). Maternal grandparent was Catherine BLAISE (1763-1797).
At this point in the BLAISE family history (about 1874), Joseph BLAISE departed France and came to America arriving in the New Orleans area. It is our understanding that his father, mother, two brothers and a sister remained in France in the Haut-Rhin Region.
Edward Joseph BLAISE
Edward Joseph BLAISE was born on Thursday 26 October 1882 at #68 Seventh Street in New Orleans, Louisiana. His father was Joseph BLAISE (1849-1909) and his mother was Caroline MODENBACH (1854-1917). Maternal grandparents were Johann Valentin MODENBACH (1811-1882) and Maria Anna EBERT (1808-1877). Paternal grandparents were Marin BLAISE (1823-1886) and Catherine MERKLEN (1820-1866).

Peter Oswald "Ike" BLAISE was born on Thursday 29 March 1906 in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of Edward Joseph BLAISE (1882-1955) and Rosa Loretta WARR (1884-1923). Maternal grandparents were William Afred WARR (1847-1886) and Catherine NULTY (1848-1925). Paternal grandparents were Joseph BLAISE (1849-1909) and Caroline MODENBACH (1854-1917).

Maternal grandparents were Emile Jules PECHON (1868-1940) and Alice Marie HERBEZ (1872-1962). Paternal grandparents were Edward Joseph BLAISE (1882-1955) and Rosa Loretta WARR (1884-1923).
Martin Gregory BLAISE
I was born Saturday 19 December 1959 at 11:29 a.m. in Houston, Texas at St. Joseph Hospital (in downtown Houston). I am the son of Donald Joseph BLAISE (1933- ) and Rose Lee BARTON (1937-1992).
My mother died in 1992 following a courageous eight-year battle against cancer. My maternal grandparents were William Edward BARTON (1913-1971) and Bertha Christine ZAHN (1898-1985). My paternal grandparents were Peter Oswald BLAISE (1906-1980) and Myrtle Angel PECHON (1903-1990).
