WWhere's BTE this week and what ARE those boyz up to??

9-5-2001 --- Just popped in really quick. Thanks for the emails from those of you who are still checking out this page. I?m sorry if I haven?t replied, I?m currently (slowly) working on getting that college degree.

Just updated! I?ve added new links in the studio to amazon.com?s files for clips from all the albums including ?How Does Your Garden Grow?? and ?Closer.? (Just between you and me, I?m hoping to update the lyrics someday, but don?t sue me if it?s a while before that happens? I?ll let you know. Also, for those of you who?ve asked, the best place I know of to get BTE mp3?s is Morpheus and for lyrics not on this page, try purelyrics.com :)

(Also, I know the MTV video?s aren?t working but when I find replacement mov?s or avi?s I will update that section. I think Kiki?s videos are still up so you can still watch those. :)

7-21-2000 --- That's right folks, pack up the kiddies, and kiss your arses goodbye cause pigs are flying, and I have FINALLY updated the page after 2-3 years of being MIA, all your supportive emails have prompted me to do the inevitable, and update, update, update?.well, kinda.

What's new? I've updated the movies, added a few new *.rm files (hey, they weren't around when this page started 5 some years ago, give me a break!)

I've updated the Links, well, I added the BTE web page link.

I've FINALLY got the fall tour dates for the HDYGG tour up.

I've added a link to where you can find the lyrics to HDYGG.

And I've updated the Studio, so the links in there should work.

There are you happy now? What do you want now, my first born? Sheesh? just kidding, it's always my pleasure, hopefully I can work on this page more now that I'm soon to be unemployed and returning to school, but no promises. Till then, see all you snazzy kids and goaties. J The Devilgrrl has spoken, so it will be.

Yes, it's FINALLY happened! I have posted my pictures from the 9:30 club show WAY back in July. Sorry for the delay, but it's been a hectic few months. Anyhoo, enjoy, and for your drolling pleasure, here's a shortcut. "9:30 Club"

Just a little aside, for those of you who care, I will be attending my 7th...yes, that's SEVENTH bte show next week! So, hopefully, I can get some good pictures of Kevin without the fro. (Yes, in case you've been living under a rock and haven't heard yet, Kevin is sportin' a new haircut! Eeek! Ok, Girls, don't all go running to the barber to try and get a hold of those clippings....gross. Ok, that's obsessive, even for me! :)

Oh, 'nother cool thing, I've recently gotten a hold of some groovey bte articles from Stephen Pitalo, (btw, he wrote them!). So, look for those in about a week, if I can get off my can and transcribe them! -- And just to entice you, one of those article's is from 1995! When a hot, new band named "Better Than Ezra" first hit the music scene with Deluxe. And for those who like details, Stephen went to LSU and was in the same screenwriting class with Kevin. (and Stephen, if you're reading this, I hope I'm not overstepping my bounds giving out this personal info and all.. :) Ok, that's now that's 555-.... heheh....just kidding, but I had ya going there, huh? :)

What can be better than Kevin, Tom, and Travis EVERYDAY of the year?!?!?!? (not much!) But, bte needs your help....yes, the boy wonders need ezralites to help contribute pictures for the first ever, BTE 1998 CALENDER!

Ok, you're wondering why I haven't updated, AGAIN, well, this time I've got a really good reason....no net access! Yes, folks, I've been moving back to my parent's house from bleaksburg, and have lost my account til I can get my hands on a new one. So, be patient, cause you know I always reward those who are patient. :) OH! And the new tour dates for June at up! you know where to go!

Ok, I DID go to the Balitmore Shizznit, even though it was a matter of very tricky travel plans, and begging a few favors, but it was well worth it! Am I going to review this one? ... maybe... it's my page, right? BUT I will promise that I will post my pictures...asap! btw, if you missed the Balitmore show (my 6th BTE show) you missed out on it big time! boas, beer, stoned-middle-aged men dressed in leather, BTE, Soul-patches, foam freezbies, BTE, ....and much, MUCH, more...heck, you missed Slash! .... 'nuff said. :)

Due to an angel (on the stairs) named, Melissa, I have decided to for go my reviews for Norfolk, and W-S...mostly cause those shows were a blur due to the huge frat guys falling around my head....BUT instead, I have transcribed April's issue of Tribe, featuring BTE. Complete with an awesome 40's style picture of the boys on the cover, it's worth reading! but, you don't have to take my word for it.... Let me see this article!

My Winston-Salem & Norfolk pictures ARE up! Along with some, new lil' goodies, I happened upon, so check it out! run, don't walk to that page!...hey, I said, go....what are you still doing on this page? Here, fine, I'll take you there myself! Sheesh, I gonna do *everything* here. :) *pix page*

According to the ezralites on the imusic BB, no one could access the MSN chat with BTE! Bill Gate's what gives??? In papercup's words, "Bill Gate's is Satan!!" If you're wondering why I'm so miffed, it's cause the chat was only for MSN members, which I am not, yet I still recieved tons of email about it, and wasn't able to do anything about it. If you happen to be there, please, please, PLEASE drop me a line and sum up what the guys said.

It has come and gone, and boy what a show it was! If you didn't catch the VH1 show, Hard Rock Live with BTE and the Lemonheads on it, .... well, you can't say I didn't tell you! :) Just joking, darlings. I can honestly say, it was like seeing them in concert, but without all the moshers, and crowd surfers slamming into you(which, I think is a good thing)...unless of course, you like that sort of thing.

A few new tour dates for June have been added, check it out! ***tours page***

STOP THE PRESSES!!!!! (I've always wanted to say that :) Tonight's the big night, as of this posting, we are 19 hours and counting til the airing of VH1's Hard Rock Live, featuring the Lemonheads &.....BETTER THAN EZRA!!!! Also, after the show, join the boys on line for a chat session...you heard me, our favorite trio will be going cyber for the event! The URL's http://hardrocklive.msn.com

I have returned from my road trip with my fellow ezralites, whom I affectionally call my "Circle of Friends." This leg of the trek, it's Jenn Wurzbacher, and Mark Shiply (again) and Dannelle Grilli and Kevin Gr......aham! (Thought I was gonna say iffin, huh?...don't lie!) Anyways, look for reviews from Winston-Salem (Ziggy's) and Norfolk (Boathouse) along with pictures, when I get them developed. Also, I ask patience cause I'm still fighting this horrid cold, and no sleep isn't helping. :) Oh, and it looks like I'm gonna try to keep up my three month streak...I know, not as impressive as Jenn's 5 months, but I will be trying my hardest to get to the May 10th show in Baltimore! Which will be my 6th show, (4 of which have been in the past two months!)

FYI, set your VCR's for Sunday, VH1, at 8pm!! BTE will be featured on "Hard Rock Live."

You may have been wondering, "Amanda, what gives? Why haven't you updated???" - Not to fear, it's only cause I've been bed-rideen with a horrid cold, but I'll get right on it asap. Things to look forward to?

* Reviews & picture from the upcoming Winston-Salem & Norfolk shows. The Re-release of Surprise in the Summer, and the video compliation from the fan club also this summer. Not to mention, I've got to start updating the latest poll results.

VH1's Hard Rock Live has been moved, once again! This time I'm told that it will be aired April 27th. Why does VH1 keep doing this to us?!?!?

This JUST in!! The mystery's now solved! What does BTE mean??? Well, as you all may know, the band's been said rather to take the truth about thier name to the grave than tell. BUT while in Germany a couple of weeks ago (March 1997), they were asked where they got the name "Better Than Ezra" Kevin said: Ernest Hemingway lived next door to Ezra Pound in Paris in 1925. Apparently Pound was a noisy neighbor, since Hemingway wrote down in his diary (later published as "A Movable Feast"): "anything is better than ezra learning to play the bassoon." And there you have it! (However, since they are known as the ministers of misinformations, aka. M.O.M.'s, I'd take this with a grain of salt. )

"Long Lost" is due to be officially released on Monday, March 24th. They're going to wait and see what the radio reaction is before deciding whether to film a video for it. There are rumors that if the radio reaction is... well... *good* then perhaps MTV and VH1 will play the live version of "Long Lost" from the VH-1 recording of "Hard Rock Live!"

The date of VH1's Hard Rock Live has changed! I repeat, the Hard Rock Live featuring BTE, has CHANGED!! The new dated is May 11th @ 8.00pm EST.

Tour Dates have changed, and new ones have been added, check it out! ***tours page***

The results of the first annual BTE poll are in! Drumroll, please, CrashDaddy. *Poll Results*

I'm back from Spring Break, and have met all THREE members of BTE! Where was I? The Waxie Maxie's in-store, and Bartender's Ball, of course! Check out the review and new pictures.

The BTE boys are back on tour! They're gonna tour the Southern/Eastern states, before heading over to Europe. Check it out on the tours page!

Off the official site for the New Orleans Heritage festival:

Better Than Ezra (ROCK)-This trio of local rockers went platinum last year when their debut CD, Deluxe, was re-released by Elektra and sold more than a million copies. With singer/guitarist and songwriter Kevin Griffin, bassist Tom Drummond and newly recruited drummer Travis McNabb, the band is known for its hit singles "Good," "In the Blood" and "Rosealia." May 4/WB 38/Polaroid Stage/4:40-5:40

Ok, so this isn't NEWS but for the sake of science, would you like to take a second and answer my BTE quesionaire/poll? Results will be posted in March, and updated after then.

Better Than Ezra's next single has be announced. Ladies and Gentlemen, the next single will be... *Drum Roll* Long Lost!!!

Better Than Ezra will be playing the DC area on Saturday, March 1st, 1997!!! They will be performing at the Bartender's Ball at the Sheraton Hotel, to benefit 6 local charities. Tickets are $100 and can only be purchased at participating DC bars. It is a black-tie event and only 21 and over are admitted. For more info check out http://www.dc101.com, it's a DC101 event, in co-operation with a few other sponsers. (p.s. I will be attending, so watch this site for a full review of it!)

Well, Better Than Ezra took time out from their busy touring schedules to shoot a segment for VH1 as part of the channel's new show, Hard Rock Live. The filming was done in New York on Feb. 18th, 1997. Read more about it on Jenn's Page (she, Kiki, and Therese were there) or in Therese's latest Ezralite Alert. Air date is TBA, but it's speculated to be sometime in March.
