The Best Guitarists you've Never Heard Of - Dave Beegle
By Pete Prowen
Guitar April 1996

Who the hell is Dave Beegle, you ask? Dave is a Colorado-based guitarist who plays with Fourth Estate, an instrumental hard-rock power trio. What makes them of interest is a combination of factors, but it is especially Dave's serious chops. No, he's not a shredder by any means, but instead a superb rhythm player who makes use of the new TransPerformance system, which allows you to change to dozens of alternative tunigns instantly via a computer installed in the guitar's body. Cool, huh? Dave's other strengths include well above-average soloing prowess, slick slide work, and excellent songwriting and arranging skills. On the first listen to Fourth Estate's 1995 release, See What I See, most of Guitar's editors were raising their eyebrows and commenting on the catchy, powerfully recorded compositions. This disk rocks seriously and the number of creative guitar textures that Dave conjures up are sure to impress all. Like Jimmy Page, Brian May, and Tom Scholtz, he is a one-man guitar army and, with the aid of the TransPerformance axe, is well-equipped for the job. A very clever player.
