AN EDUCATIONAL JOURNEY

Before we get started on a educational journey, allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Kathy Muhammad and I am married to William, we have three daughters.
We are members of the NATION OF ISLAM.
On this journey we will learn some of the history of original people, what
they went thru then and what they go thru now.
Before I begin any journey
I always like to begin with a prayer and reading a sura (scripture) from the HOLY QUR'AN. We must always
start anything we do with a message from the creator. I also like to read a relaxing poem by Rodney
to continue my inspiration UMOJA, Rodney C: A collection of Poetry, Or a poem by Deandra CONGO DRUMS
So sit back and get your clicking finger ready. We will visit other
sites to learn of the events which took place and we will learn of events
that are to take place and what we must do to prepare for them.
The Webster dictionary defines Original as "having to do with origin, first, earliest, new, never having been
before." so if we are Original People then we are first, new, earliest. Then when did our origin begin? When did the white-man's
begin? MAKING
OF THE WHITE MAN. According to the bible Genesis 1:27 "And God
created man in his own image, in the image of God He created him." Now we have often heard God referred to as a spirit, not as a man. If man was created
in the image of God, then man would be a spirit. But since man was is not spirit but with form, then God must be with form. When was man created? Man was
created trillions of years ago.
We can not go back trillions of years ago, since our knowledge of our self and our God was taken from us, so
we will go back to what brought us to the condition that we now live.
Our homeland Mother Africa (Mother = That which is the origin, source, or nurturer of something) lived Kings, Queens, Royalty. Africa is the mother of all
civilization. Africa's civilization is the BEGINNING and the END. Africa
2000. There was a time when our people built pyramids and cities. People nowadays are
wondering where it all came from.
We were able to communicate thru thought when we were in a righteous state of mind. But we begin to listen to the
white race of people (which has been on this planet for only 6000 years) and our thoughts became unrighteous so we had to use other means of communicating.
Since we are such creative and inventive people we learned to communicate by drums The Drum. We were able to communicate with other villages.
We were trusting
people, so when the white man started to offer friendship, we trusted them. John Hawkins lived among us for 29 ½ years, during this time he gained our trust, before he begin his tricknology. When they wanted to show us their fine ships we trusted them. We trusted them when they wanted to show us and share
with us, when they invited us on their ship we thought we were safe, but little did we know that the white man was not to be our friend, because his true nature is tricknology.
Thru tricknology and deceit our ancestors were brought to this country of Amerikkka, on the slave ship called JESUS. During our travels to this country our, ancestors were force to endure inhuman conditions. Since our ancestors
were use to living good lives, many were able to survive, but many either jumped ship (if they could get away) or died because of the wretched conditions. The were make to lie very closely together, (as
cattle to day are packed closely in transport trucks), to live in their own filth (urine, stool, vomit). The woman would sometimes give birth in this condition. As a result disease was prevalent
and millions died in the MIDDLE PASSAGE. It is said that we lost 100 million of our people during this time.
We were strong and determine people, so we
resisted when they tried to change our natural ways. Over a course of 64 years they were able to finally break the first group of people that they captured
(kidnapped) and brought to this new world.
In order to break us they would use any tactic that would work. The would parade us before the rest and beat us, they would take the pregnant women and cut them open and let the baby fall out. They would
torture us. This was all done in front of the other captive to instill FEAR, as to what would happen to them, if they did not submit to their ways.
We begin a life of
SLAVERY. If you listen closely you can hear SLAVE VOICES from the past.
As it has been said we were strong resistant people, and we did not conform to their ways easily, so a slave owner devised a way to break a slave, and he took that information to other slave owners.
Mr.(Masta) WILLIE
LYNCH told the slave owners if they used his plan that they would be able to control their slaves, for the next 300 years. His plan
works to this date. There are many slaves still under Mr. Lynches control (plan).
July 4, 1776 DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE was signed, but
it was not our independence, we remained slaves (We were brought into slavery by John Hawkins, in 1555 on a ship called JESUS). 1789 brought THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF
AMERICA, this was not for us, we were still slaves. 1862 THE EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION was thought to free the slaves (all states were NOT required to free the slaves. If slave states decided to remain neutral, the Emancipation did not apply to them. We are still considered slaves, (modern day slaves).
1865 the 13th amendment to the constitution was applied. 1868 the 14th amendment. You must realize that we the people from Africa and our decedent were not considered people but were considered "Property", so we are
still slaves.
Alto the emancipation Proclamation, did allow us to leave the plantation, we were still not given the privilege of the whites. We still live in inhuman conditions, but remember we are creative people,
and we made the best of it. During the time after the emancipation, since we were no longer in chattel slavery, we began a life of servitude slavery. We were allowed to stay on the plantations, and work as a sharecropper. Since the owners of the plantations no longer had slaves, they had to pay the workers, and because of this, they could not afford to keep large plantations as they did before. There were also several more whites who wanted to own farms. Few people had the funds to pay for the land, and sharecropping began. Under this system, people would rent their lands in exchange for money or crops. The owners of such farms often had a debt which they need to pay and put pressure on the tenants (black and poor whites). They also discouraged the growth of several items and promoted the growth of Tobacco and Cotton.
Of times the share cropper end in debt to the land owner, because they had to borrow during the year against what they would harvest at the end of the year.
Since most of us did not know how to read, write, or count they were often cheated.
Also after the abolition of slavery. A gift from France to commemorate and celebrate the abolition of slavery in the US, was given. The Statue of Liberty. The first model of its existence by French sculptor Fredric Augute Bartholdi, featured a woman of African descent, with a broken chain hanging from her left arm, down by her side, and broken chains around her feet. In her right hand, uplifted was a torch, on her woolly locks.. a crown. But this first model was rejected for another woman to the liking of the AMERICAN COMMITTEE on the STATUE of LIBERTY. The Statue of Liberty was dedicated in 1886, and the one that lives on Liberty Island in the New York harbor--has little in common with the first model, other than the torch, the crown and the loose robe. Her left arm, is bent up by her chest and in her hand she holds a tablet.
Her hair has been dekinked and her face remade in the image of Bartholdi's mother, which has nothing to do with the LIBERTY in the US.
Many of us started to travel north, to look for family that we had been separated from during our captive years. Some due to being sold off, some due to running away. We heard of opportunities
for a better life. On the way north we settle in many places, we brought our love for certain things with us, food,
music,etc. Since we often spoke of our lives thru our music, we developed a form known today as
DELTA BLUES. We also developed a form which we called JAZZ.
Once we arrived in the northern states, our family
members were still catching hell. Our men found jobs working long hours in hot steel mills, and factories. Our women found jobs doing domestic work (cleaning white people homes and caring for their kids), while our children
were left to be cared for by a older sibling or family member.
There would often be several generations of a family living together in a small apartment or house. We would often take in friends who had fallen on hard
times, or children of friends or family member who had died, which gave us an extended family.
We were forced to live still under the control of white people and in the poorest conditions. Those that remained in the
southern states were forced to live under JIM CROW LAWS. Our men were often accused of raping or looking at white women. They were to look away or look down when
ever they came into contact with white women. The white people used lynching and burning black men as a sport. They would put on white robes and dunce type hats with only their eyes showing. These men were known as the
Klu Klux Klan (which is a white supremacist group, who feel they are superior to other racial groups, mainly blacks. These groups are very much alive today, in 1997 and have many branches across the country.) They would
force their way into our homes and take whoever they wanted (usually a man or male child) they would sometimes drag them from the back of a horse, or car etc. sometimes killing them then or nearly killing them. They would
often pile them on top of each other and set them on fire, burning them alive or they would hang them with a rope tied around their necks
till they died. All while these atrocities were taking place, white men, women and kids
would have a picnic. Do you wonder where the term picnic comes from? = PIC A Nic. (nigger). 1700 Blacks were lynched in America from 1885 through 1894. DUBOIS said during the 16 years of his teaching career nearly 2,000 persons
were publicly killed by mobs (not a single one of these murderers were punished). Lynching increased in 1915, 1916,and 1917. The lynching committed against Blacks in the early twentieth century were designed specifically
to evoke this special kind of terror. Between 1918 and 1927, 91.6 percent of all persons lynched in the U.S. were black. Eleven were black women, three of whom was pregnant. Forty-four blacks were burned alive, and 18 others
were burned after they had been executed. Some were simply tied too the backs of automobiles and dragged across city streets until they were unconscious. Many Black men were tied down and brutally castrated with knives or
axes. In some cases, the family of the intended victims were seized physically and delivered to the site to witness the series of atrocities. The purpose of the events was not to kill the Negro quickly or painlessly, but to derive
sadistic satisfaction from the suffering of something that was less than human. In the twenties, lynching became popular cultural events, not unlike circuses and dances. Hundreds of white women and children were invited to take
part in the festivities. Fingers, ears, and other body parts of Black victims were eagerly seized for souvenirs. AFRICAN AMERICAN HOLOCAUST.
The RED SUMMER of 1919. This was the summer after black soldiers returned back to the states after WWI. Black men were lynched at an alarming rate, hence the "Red Summer...
Our education was substandard compared to whites. We were mis-educated. In most areas we had to walk many miles to a one or two room schoolhouse, while white kids would ride pass harassing us on their way to modern schools with up to date books and buildings. Although we were not allowed to go to their schools or colleges, we had many achievements, accomplishments and
INVENTIONS. Many were thought to belong to whites, and many whites took credit. You must remember that we are the greatest, the builders of civilization.
Since we have always been good at entertaining white people, some of us pursued a career in entertainment SHOW TIME AT THE APOLLO. We were allowed to perform for them, but not allowed to socialize in the establishments where we performed. We had to use the back door, had to stay in other black people homes or sleep in our cars. During this time we had separate everything - water fountains - toilets - waiting rooms- etc. - There were areas for "COLORED" and "WHITES", the penalty would be great if you entered a area that was for whites.
We started building our own communities. We had our own Banks, Hotels, Theaters, Restaurants, Transportation, Businesses, Stores, etc. We had millionaires. We had a unity a closeness, a love for each other, we looked out and cared for each other. BLACK WALL STREET
In 1955 ROSA PARKS a domestic worker in Montgomery Alabama decided that day she would not get up and give her seat to a white person. You must understand that at that time when we rode the bus, we had a certain section to sit in (the back of the bus). If the bus was full and a white person didn't have a seat in their sections we were to get up and give them our seat. We had to stand if no other seat was left in the "colored" section. On this day Mrs. Parks decided she would not give up her seat, this resulted in her being arrested. This begin what is known today as the beginning of the CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT. The local bus company was boycotted by blacks for a year. During that time all blacks walked where they had to go, or
if they had a car they transported other blacks (car pooling).
During the civil rights movement many marches was organized in many southern states. Many organizations were formed NAACP, SNIC, CORE, SCLC. DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING became known for his leadership in fighting for justice for blacks, often leading the marches. The marchers was met with much resistance from the police and white citizens. The dogs were trained to attack the men in their reproductive organs. These dogs were used to viciously attack black men, women, and children. They were also attacked with strong water hose. Many blacks were beaten with any instrument a white person had clubs, chains, steel objects. Many blacks were killed - hung - burned etc., but it didn't stop us.
During the early sixties we had movements demanding
Black power BLACK PANTHERS. " SAY IT LOUD I'M BLACK AND I'M PROUD", "BLACK POWER", "POWER TO THE PEOPLE" was the call for the day. Also the BLACK LIBERATION ARMY was in force. MALCOLM Xspreading the teachings of THE HONORABLE ELIJAH MUHAMMAD. We learned that we are the original people. The owner, the maker of the planet earth, the God of the universe and the white man is the devil. We saw the assassination of Malcolm X and Martin Luther King. We saw cities across the country erupting in riots and burning. Many areas that burned in the 60's were never rebuilt and remain empty lots scattered with trash or burned out buildings in 1997.
