Success Revenues In Different Times

Sussex, England - after a success season in the last european summer festivals, Cure was isolated in a century 17 mansion, England inland, to record Wild Mood Swings (temporary title), its new disc, with date foreseen for May this year. It will be the first with unreleased material since Wish (92).
For the presentations in Hollywood Rock, the group rehearsed 30 musics between old success and recent works. The show will have about two hours... "The public wants to hear well-known musics, and we are just going to Brazil to do the shows and not to sell discs. It would be stupid to return after 10 years and just to play new stuffs. Besides, the night won't be exclusive for Cures, we will reach people that won't be there to see us. We have to try to satisfy those people", says Robert Smith, the group leader.
Of the new album, Smith advances that Cure will just play three music: "Want", "Jupiter Crash" and "Mint Car" are the most probable. The disc was to be entirely acoustic and quite simple. The members used strings, trumpets and they recorded everything just in one take. They produced six music until trying other sonorities, with computers, of jazz and other influences. The material became so diversified that can only be defined after the choice of the 12 tracks.
Considered alternative by the press, Cure rejects that tag. According to Smith, that is due to the recording company stupidity: "We sold a lot. If they still consider us alternative perhaps that is due to the absolute control that we have on our work. We recorded, mixing, produced, we even created the the disc design, and just later is that presented it to the recording, which just distributes it. I know that when a band grows it is difficult to keep the control, but we got".
About Supergrass, that will come in the same nights of The Cure in Hollywood Rock, Smith says to be the best british group for the moment, mainly live. The current Cure line-up brings the drummer Jason Cooper and the keyboarder Roger O'Donnell, that replaced to Boris Willians and Porl Thompson, still guitarist Perry Bamonte and bassist Simon Gallup, the other original member besides Smith.
