I usually teach teenagers at Lower Intermediate level and I therefore try and devise activities to suit my students´ age, needs and level. However, most activities can be easily adapted to other levels or age groups. The following is just a rough reference guide.

* Elementary

   - The Spelling Officer    Teach/Revise the alphabet. Give your class some spelling practice. Students are given a clue and they have to rearrange some scrambled letters in order to get the right word.

* Elementary to Lower Intermediate

   - But...Where Are You???    Vocabulary revision. Many different semantic fields and situations: in the city, on the beach, in the country...almost everything and everywhere!

   - Have You Noticed?    Stds find and read some notices. They end up writing their own...but the topic IS unusual. Good for Class Management purposes.

    - Sentence Maker    Your students will get their sentence patterns right from now on. Also, they will enjoy making sentences:  the more, the merrier.

* Lower Intermediate

    - Crime and Punishment    A lesson on the goodies, the baddies and those in-between.

    - The People Next Door    Do your students know their neighbouring countries? And how do they like their people?

    - The Visitor : Me and Mr Platt     One of my most successful lessons ever. I enjoyed myself tremendously, and so did the kids.

* Intermediate to Upper Intermediate

    - GIRLS : The Lesson    Boys vs Girls? Not anymore. We all have feelings and, most important, we all have the same rights.

    - Neighbours!    Stds. use some notes to write and perform a sketch. Anything could happen!

* Suitable for all (or most) levels

    - Buy Now!    Reading ads, writing ads and maybe buying and/or selling...

    - Folks´ Corner    Foodlovers...Visit our virtual restaurant.

    - Hungry Brats    Meet some kids who are hungry for knowledge! Just like your students?

    - My Word!    A vocabulary game. Select a topic, write a list of words...and see what happens.

    - Songbook No 1: Rivers of My Mind     Why not play a few songs today?

    - The Clever Compositions Club     The stds. get organized and write great compositions. What else could you wish for?

    - The Talking Zone    A list of topics to talk about...one at a time, please!

  - Verb Curse   A final solution to make everyone learn the irregular verbs list really fast. And it is fun too!

  - Watch Your Step!    Good for Class Management. Ever heard of students taking responsibility for their own learning? That´s it!
