Meet The Friends of the Andes, The group was founded in 1993 by Ernesto Pomareda
Initially, Friends of the Andes, was a traditional Andean group, now they have moved into an exciting new direction, fusing various popular and world music styles to form a new genre of contemporary Andean music. The Friends of the Andes musicians have experience and knowledge of their music and mastery of their instruments, each being a soloist in his own right. they unite to interpret and create within the genre of Andean music an exciting brand of their own

.  

The music of Peru, Argentina, Ecuador, Bolivia, Chile,Colombia, and also Mexico and Cuba. played in a contemporary and eclectic way. A true blend of popular and traditional Andes music styles, guitars,charangos, quenas, and many other exotic instruments along with ethnic percussions and the mixture of Europen panflutes and Andes panpipes keeping within the frame and scope of the Andean traditional feeling.
