HARARE SOUTH
On Wednesday the 15th Zanna van Rensburg of Monderwa Farm received a Section 8 order, giving her seven days to vacate the property. However, the following day a group of fifteen men headed by Douglas Mahiwa arrived on the farm and told her and her son that they had to be off within two hours. When she objected, the men forced their way into the yard, and armed themselves with logs, pitchforks and bembas, and proceeded to threaten the pair, who locked themselves into the house. The invaders lit a fire at the back door, and threatened to burn the house down, then slit the throats of the van Rensburgs. Zanna radioed a neighbour for help, who
in turn contacted the police, but the police did not arrive. Eventually, the van Rensburgs were allowed to leave the house with a few
hastily-packed bas and their pets, who they were later forced to take to a vet and put down because they had nowhere to keep them.

Several hours later, Mr van Rensburg returned to the farm on the basis of assurances from the Beatrice police. He was told by the invaders, that if he stayed on the farm his life was in danger, and he would have to organize the removal of his belongings from Harare. They have not been able to return to the farm since.

Cases of farm evictions have decreased by 37.5% in comparison to those recorded in the month of September. However, Zana Nance Van Rensburg, the owner of Monderwa Farm, receiving a one - day notice to vacate the premises after having stayed at the farm for thirty - seven years. In another related incident, Zanu PF supporters, led by the war veterans, reportedly approached Noel Buchanan at Ntshonalanga farm at midnight and torched his thatched buildings in order to force him and his workers away.

In another incident, a dozen right-wingers are now in prison awaiting trial by the government for plotting a separate coup. Key figures who are fighting these charges are Sarel Kruger and Cornia van Wyk, the wife of Adriaan "At" van Wyk, another alleged coup figure. Kruger claims the ANC-led police knew in advance that Nic van Rensburg, who runs a firearms training academy in Centurion, would be murdered by rightists because he was suspected of being an ANC informant. Van Rensburg was shot 10 times on May 9.

According to Kruger, police told him that both he and At van Wyk were on the same "hit list" as van Rensburg, before van Rensburg was assassinated. Kruger sees this is evidence that the police knew about the plot to take out van Rensburg and could have prevented it. He also believes that informants have been used to plant false information in right-wing circles. Both Cornia van Wyk and Kruger want a man named J.C. Smit to testify in court on this issue. They believe that Smit was a police informant. Phone records show that Smit made eight calls to a top South African police superintendent within 48 hours of the van Rensburg killing.

The North West police are still searching for the killers of a 74-year-old farmer, Henry van Rensburg, well known as "Ramatswele". Van Rensburg was shot and killed at his Rapoelie farm near Delareyville last night. The motive of the killing is not yet known and the police are still investigating.
Police say Van Rensburg, who was alone during the attack, allegedly pressed the panic button on his farm. The security company he is contracted to couldnot locate him by phone and alerted the police. The police found him alive on his bed, having been shot twice. He, however, died before emergencyservices arrived at the scene.
Police say only a cellphone was missing and some rooms were ransacked. His workers have expressed concerns about who would hire them because VanRensburg was their only employer in the area.

In Camperdown in Natal, black killers shot dead another white, Rory van Rensburg (31), after assaulting his 57-year-old mother Sandra, and knifing her 63-year-old husband Alexander Cameron. After their bloody slaughter, the blacks robbed the house, loaded up the family's vehicle and fled. At one stage, they had to leave the bakkie behind, but got away themselves, like most other black killers and robbers in the New SA

SECOND FARMER KILLED IN NORTH WEST MAR 28, 2001
A 35-year-old farmer has been killed and his mother wounded in the second farm attack in the Marico area in two days, North West police said. Rustenburg - A 35-year-old farmer was killed and his mother wounded on Tuesday afternoon in the second farm attack in the Marico area in two days, North West police said on Wednesday. Nicholas Janse van Rensburg and his mother Hester, 56, were at their farm house in Rooikoppies near Marikana when they were approached by six men apparently wanting to buy a tractor, Inspector Patty Khumalo said. Four of them accompanied Van Rensburg to a kraal and the other two remained with his mother. At the kraal several shots were fired and Van Rensburg was hit in the left side of the head. He died on the scene. His mother was shot in the right shoulder. Nothing was taken from the farm when the men left the scene. Hester van Rensburg was taken to Pegleray Hospital in Rustenburg, where she was in a stable condition, according to hospital spokeswoman Aloma van Heerden. Earlier police reports said she had been fatally wounded. Police arrested five men in the area soon after the attack. A sixth suspect evaded the police. A 9mm pistol and a knife were confiscated from the men.
Link to other farm killings probed:
Khumalo said police were investigating the possibility that the six men were linked to the murder of 51-year-old Pieter Raaths, who was attacked at his farm in nearby Mooinooi near Groenfontein on Monday night. Raaths was having supper with a friend, Elizabeth Pretorius, 43, when they were attacked by four men. The men stabbed Raaths in his neck, right shoulder, chest and ribs. Pretorius was beaten and kicked. The robbers then ransacked the house and fled with cash and firearms. Pretorius, who sustained minor injuries, contacted neighbours and the police. Raaths was taken to Brits Hospital, where he died on arrival. - Sapa

FRANSCHHOEK KILLERS GET LIFE IN JAIL
PANDEMONIUM broke out in the Cape High Court when the four Franschhoek Pass murderers were each sentenced to two life terms in prison. Relatives of the accused started shouting as the sentences were passed, forcing the judge to raise his voice in an attempt to complete the sentencing of Heinrico Pietersen, 18, Morne Lakay, 23, Dawid Williams, 23 and Jehan Abrahams, 27. The four were found guilty earlier this week of the murder of Dorian van Rensburg, who was shot in the head at close range, and one of his two woman companions, Marisa du Toit, who was shot in the head. The two were killed at the Franschoek Pass viewing spot last July. The men were also found guilty of the attempted murder of another woman among the group, Jean Audrey Myburgh, who, the judge said, miraculously survived the attack by pretending to be dead.

Johannes Jochemus Jansen van Rensburg, a forty year-old husband of twenty years and a father of two children, was a partner in a plumbing business that was improving the water and sewerage facilities in the East Rand township of Katlehong. On Sunday morning 17 January 1999, he entered the Ramakonopi section of the township with a team of workers to lay pipes. At 08h00, while his workers were preparing for the day’s tasks, he was attacked at the wheel of his Ford Cortina by a group of four young men. One of them approached, pointed a firearm at him, pulled the trigger and fled. A second, armed with a 30-centrimetre iron bar, demanded a cellular phone before also fleeing. The bullet entered Jansen van Rensburg’s right shoulder. It lacerated his subclavian arteries and passed through his trachea and left lung. He died shortly afterwards at the scene of the attack. His attackers had by then escaped with his cellphone.

"DOCTORS KILLED: Dr Hannes van Rensburg (39), working in Mabopane outside Pretoria was shot dead for R200-00. He was known as the people's doctor in Mabopane. People came from as far away as Ghana, Mozambique and Soweto to see the doctor. He leaves a wife, Retha (28). It was almost closing time when a man entered the reception area and demanded the money in the office. With R200 in his hands the man stormed into Dr Van Rensburg's office fired 3 shots. He called to his receptionist and 3 people working out in the gymnasium, which Dr Van Rensburg had organised for the people of Mabopane, came running at the sound gunshots. They helped to put the doctor into his bakkie. They drove as fast as they could, but to no avail. Now Dr Igna Steenkamp is the only doctor left in the area. "I'm going to hire a permanent security guard which will cost me R5000 a month. I'm going to set up a security fence for another R4000 and a camera with closed circuit television (R5000). Maybe I should even wear a bullet-proof jacket." Other doctors murdered recently include: Dr Andre Kurilko (29), murdered on Christmans Day in 1994 near Mabopane where he worked. His body was later found in the Apies River. Dr Dirk Scheepers (45), shot dead in January 1995 in his office at Henley on Klip. Dr Don Bekker (66), hacked to death in January 1995 on his farm in the Lothair district. Dr Stephen Pon (32), shot dead in October 1995 at the Johannesburg Hospital. Dr Siphiwe Msikinya, murdered outside his rooms at Daveyton in October 1996. The unnamed man was arrested at the Far East Rand Hospital while receiving emergency treatment for a bullet wound to his stomach. Investigating officer, Sergeant William Apane, said on Thursday that the man admitted he was involved in an attack on 79-year-old Arend de Walt and his son Danie de Walt (39) at their Katboschfontein Farm near Delmas on Wednesday night. The suspect also gave police information that led to the arrest of three other suspects at a house in Thwathwa squatter camp near at Daveyton. Police recovered an unlicenced .38 Special revolver, believed to have been used during the attack, at the house. De Walt and his son were also rushed to two separate Gauteng hospitals after they sustained bullet wounds during the gunfight with their attackers. Police spokesman, Superintendent Doep du Plooy, said on Thursday that De Walt was shot in the left upper leg while his son sustained a bullet wound to the right upper arm. "The men were apparently having dinner at roughly 8pm when one of the attackers knocked on their door and asked about a car. When the son opened the door, all four attackers pushed their way into the house and started assaulting De Walt junior," said Du Plooy. De Walt’s father immediately grabbed his pistol from a sideboard and opened fire on the attackers, injuring one of the men. They returned fire, injuring the old man in the leg. His son’s girlfriend, Elizabeth van Rensburg (28) heard the shooting and opened fire on the attackers, causing them to flee the house. She was not injured in the incident but De Walt junior was slightly injured in the arm during the crossfire. Sergeant Apane said police raided the Far East Rand Hospital after receiving a tip-off that a suspicious man had been admitted with a bullet wound. "We have transferred the suspect to a different hospital and have placed him under a 24-hour police guard," he said.

Brothers jailed for murder of farmer

DISPATCH DEC 16, 1998
GRAHAMSTOWN -- Two men who battered a young Steynsburg farm manager to death with a tractor shaft were yesterday sentenced by the high court here to effective prison terms of 19 and 24 years.

The victim's elderly mother, Mrs Leonie van Rensburg, who has lost three of her four sons, said: "It's nothing to murder these days because they don't get punished. The death sentence should definitely come back."

Acting Judge Selby Mbenenge sentenced brothers Ndoysile Fose, 28, and Thembinkosa Bunta, 33, for the murder and robbery of Mr Francois Janse van Rensburg, 27, of Komkommerhoek farm in December last year.

The pair were also given 10 and 12-year sentences for robbery which will run concurrently with the jail terms for murder. Bunta was given the stiffer term of 24 and 12 years because of previous convictions for housebreaking.

Immediately after sentencing Judge Mbenenge granted leave to appeal against conviction and sentence in terms of section 316 (2) of the Criminal Procedure Act of 1977.

Mr Janse Van Rensburg died from multiple blows inflicted with a one-metre-long tractor shaft weighing 4kg.

The judge said it weighed heavily against the pair that they had lain in wait for their victim in a barn adjoining the house for two days before breaking in and launching the deadly assault. Before passing sentence he said: "The items stolen were luxury goods and the motive was naked greed, not need."

VAN RENSBURG MET MES GEDREIG EN VRIEND WORD DOODGESTEEK

South Africa has returned to the law of the jungle. People are suffering from the worst crimes in the world in South Africa. The basic human right of safety and security and life itself, is no longer enjoyed by families in South Africa. Innocent victims are experiencing the "killing fields" of South Africa.

Lessons from History

Prior to the Great Trek in the late 1830's one of the complaints were the lack of security, G. Preller in Piet Retief p 70 refers to the following statistics: 456 houses burned down, 350 houses totally stripped, 60 waggons stolen, 111,930 cattle stolen, 161,930 sheep stolen. They asked for assistance from the authorities to save them from all the crime. As citizens they could not bear it any more, with hardly any response from the authorities. The time had come for the Great Trek. What have we learned from history?

Once the trekkers had moved to Natal Piet Retief and 70 whites and 30 non-whites were murdered. Then a deliberate and orchestrated attack of murder and plunder followed as families were brutaly killed. Early Saturday morning 17 Feb 1838 as they were camped along the Boesman river and Bloukransriver the massacre commenced. A group of van Rensburgs were nearly victims of this massacre, if it was not for their resistance and outside assistance. Read the account under "Historical van Rensburgs" subsection 'van Rensburg Laager'. The number of people murdered with this wave of crime, on one day is recorded here:

Non whites - 250

White men - 40

White women - 56

Children - 185

Thus the murder of Retief and his men plus the ensuing murder Totalled - 611 people.

Crime and murder is no respector of people whether they are black or white. Many of the trekkers decided that it was time to Trek, with no safety and security for their families. What have we learned from history? It is time for Affirmative Action! TREK ! ! ! !
