A SAMPLE PLOT WORKSHEET

Title: "The Twenty-Four Carat Moon"

I. Situation:

 A. Setting
  1. Time: an imaginary present (or immediate future)
  2. Place: Duckburg, USA; outer space, and on the 24 Carat Moon

 B. Characters
  Uncle Scrooge McDuck, the world's richest duck, with a fortune estimated at 3 cubic acres of
     cash.
  Donald Duck, his nephew
  Huey, Dewey, and Louie; Donald's nephews
  The Maharajah of Eyesore, a rich eastern monarch
  The Fabulous Cattle King, a Texas Millionaire
  The Beagle Boys, a gang of thieves, Scrooge's arch enemies
  Muchkale, once the richest man on Venus

II. Conflict: Uncle Scrooge must get the golden moon

III. Events which intensify the conflict:

 1. The Marharajah or Eyesore, the Fabulous Cattle King, and the Beagle Boys plan to race
        Scrooge to the moon.
 2. Donald loses his nerve, but Scrooge prevents him from quitting by putting a box of dirt under his
        feet.
 3. The Maharjah of Eyesore is going to pass him, but Scrooge slows him down and the Beagle
        Boys cut his fuel line.
 4. The Beagle Boys have a faster ship, but the boys stop them by painting meteroites to look like
        gold.
 5. The same trick doesn't stop the cattle king until they change the shape of the meteorites to
        cattle.
 6. They reach the moon first, only to find it is owned by Muchkale.

IV. Climax: Uncle Scrooge decides to trade a box of dirt for the golden moon.

V. Turning Point: Muchkale puts the dirt in his magnetic attracter which turns the dirt into a whole
        new world.  Scrooge begins to appreciate the value of things and realizes that maybe he made
        the wrong decision after all.


VI. Denouement: As Muchkale leaves on the new planet, Scrooge knocks the crown off his golden
        statue and shapes it into a dunce cap, saying, "But doggoned if I don't think he got the best of
        the bargain."
