The Washington D.C. Trip

On May 11, 12, 13, 1998, a group of eighth graders took a trip to Washington D.C. organized by Mrs. Linda Loretz and Mr. Jim Farrell, teachers at Bennet Middle School. They witnessed the changing of the guards, and the wreath laying on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. They also went to Ford's Theatre, and saw the play Kudzu, visited The Holocaust Museum, the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum, and The National Archives. The students were required to do a scavanger hunt, write about the places they visited in a diary and explain what they learned. Having visited Washington D.C. during the week allowed us to visit all of the planned destinations, many of which otherwise would have been closed on the weekend. Below you can see the pictures of this great trip.
