Following are suggestions of material that work for some families using the Classical Approach. There are dozens of products on the market for homeschoolers. These lists contain material that 1) fits into the classical model 2) are reasonably priced and do the job efficiently (least amount of time) 3) have been used and recommended by many Catholic Homeschoolers. Items with a * are those that we have used in our own family. Please note that "Memory Work" in the grammar stage is an important part of a Classical education and is merely a suggestion of what could be done at different ages.

Grade 1

Catechism: *Living My Religion Book 1, St. Joseph's Baltimore Catechism, Our Holy Faith 1
Spiritual Reading: *Leading the Little Ones to Mary, *Treasure Box
Math & Science: *Miquon 1 & 2, MCP Math 1, *Nature Notebook
Handwriting: *Italic Book B, Traditional Penmanship, 1-3 sentences of copywork several times a week.
Reading: *Little Stories For Little Folks-Catholic Phonics Readers.., *Explode the Code 1, 2 & 3 (includes spelling), *Cardinal Readers, National Reader 1, *Victory Drill Book, *Recommended Reading List At least 30 minutes of being read to each day from the recommended reading list.
Grammar: *Grammar For Little Folks..
Art/Music: *Art Pack 1, *Classical Kids or other Classical Music..
Memory Work: skip count by 5s, 25s and 3s, 1-6 addition facts, continents, months of year, First Communion Catechism questions and prayers, 5 Bible, verses, 2 poems.

Grade 2
