The Gospel of Life is at the heart of Jesus' message. Lovingly received day after day by the Church, it is to be preached with dauntless fidelity as "good news" to the people of every age and culture.
--Pope John Paul II
Evangelium Vitae

Donum Sanctum, the pro-life arm of the Lux Veritatis webpage, strives to meet the challenge set by Pope John Paul II, while retaining the mission of the Lux Veritatis webpage -- to explain Catholic philosophy.

Successful arguments are those well-reasoned. Appealing to emotions can have some effect. For instance, showing graphic pictures of aborted fetuses can shock, sadden, and anger pro-life advocates. They might frustrate and annoy pro-choice advocates or cause them to say the oft-repeated line, "I'm not for abortion, but I think people should be able to choose."

However, it is by reason that true progress can be made. That is what this page is all about.

On the Donum Sanctum page, you will find articles explaining why abortion, contraception, euthanasia, capital punishment and suicide are morally wrong. As with the articles exclusively on the Lux Veritatis page, Donum Sanctum will feature articles influenced by the philosophy of the Catholic Church and particularly the works of St. Thomas Aquinas.
