Strider

This part of the page is dedicated to something rather strange- one of Robert Plant's dogs! It's name was "Strider," and Plant routinely shouted the dog's name at the end of "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp," when the band performed it live. The relation to Tolkien in this dog is that the "Strider" is a major character in Tolkien's Trilogy, and the Trilogy is almost surely the source of this name. In conclusion, this dog is proof that Percy was quite a fan of Tolkien in the band's early days.

Below is the .WAV sound for Windows/DOS. The sound is from Zeppelin's show on April 24, 1977, which is known as, by most bootleg traders, "Destroyer." Thanks to Julie and Peter Quets for this sound file.
