Summary: Before there was the Fantastic Four, before a certain Canadian Canucklehead joined Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, there was an Air Force test pilot named Ben Grimm and a rough around the edges Canadian agent named Logan. The pair started off on the wrong foot when hotshot pilot Grimm buzzed a sporty covertable carrying the aforementioned Canuck! These two stubborn warriors clashed over their differences and ended up in the pokey...little did they realize that they had both arrived at Ellis Air Force Base in Nevada to participate in a very special secret mission!
The pair of would-be heroes are soon sprung by none other than COlonel Nick Fury! Their mission: fly an experimental aricraft into protected Russian airspace to gather information about an experimental radio wave project which has Western scientists baffled and military forces worried. Logan & Grimm are joined by special agent Carol Danvers, who Logan recognizes from a recent trip to the US (As seen in Wolverine -1.) Just as the team of agents is getting acquainted they are attacked by a Soviet team of fighters...among them the infamous Black Widow!!! Forced to land, the trio of adventurers realize that they've been set up!
