The fans of "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" are familiar with the story of Captain Nemo and the Nautilus. This movie version has the fight with the squid, the ramming of an enemy ship, and some crazy antics from Ned Land. Ned's character is a bit more personable and fun here than in the novel. James Mason does an excellent job playing Nemo which this script follows Verne's idea of what Nemo stood for. Here, Captain Nemo has a mission - to end war and have the nations be at peace with each other. For those who have not read the novel, here is an online version of the novel by Jules Verne. This is a really cool site! Someone recreated the divesuits in this movie for a G.I.Joe. This site shows pictures and how to make the dive suit (among other things). They have even created a design for the "box" that the G.I.Joe would come in.
