An avid gamer and mildly rabid Terry Pratchett Fan, I was naturally camped outside my local gaming store three days before the release of the GURPS: Diskworld RPG. When I finally got it home, I read through the entertaining descriptions of the people places and things that pack this wonderfully illustrate book. Then, eagre to play,  I read the rules...
Then I read them again, disappointment seeping deep into my cockles. GURPS is an excellent RPG system but its a woefully complex one, and even its "GURPS-Lite" system is hoplessly incompatible with the narrative flavor of the Diskworld novels. Perhaps some of you out there care about the specific Mana levels of the Ramtops Mountains, but I can't help wondering what the area's annual precipitation of bread products has to with a good role-playing session.
Remembering the ease of play and storyteller feel of the "Amber Diceless RPG"I decided to write up a new Diskworld RPG, combining the wonderful descriptions in the GURPS book, with the ease of play offered by the Amber rules.
These pages are meant to be an alternative Rules system to the GURPS:Diskworld book, and aren not meant to stand alone. So go out and buy GURPS:Diskworld (well worth it for any Pratchett fan) and enjoy the read. Then download these rules for a truly Anhkmorporkian roleplaying experience.
