Virtual Tour of the White House Hotel Biloxi, Mississippi 1997-2001 |
Keep Going! |
The White House Hotel, 1997.
Start the tour by sneaking in through the back! Behind the buildings & next to the old service building.
West side of the properties, the southwest wing and the old west wing..
Pre-renovation view of the entrance to the middle wing.
.
Enter the west wing, the oldest part of the hotel.
This is the only picture we have of inside before the renovation started.
Back outside, let's walk over to the door
of the middle wing.
Entering the middle wing through the beautiful mediterranean style door.
Banisters have been removed from the staircase as renovation begins in this early 1999 view.
Hallway in the middle wing.
Window panes are being prepared for restoration.
The same location two years later. The building has been gutted,
and salvagable items such as these columns await restoration.
At the west end of the middle wing, crews have already removed
most of the southwest wing (Old West wing looks like a bomb hit it).
Opposite end of the middle wing, we now are looking out from the
fourth floor of the east wing.
View from out of the east wing,
looking west along the side of the middle wing.
Before we leave the East wing, let's go to the 'Bell Tower'
and the attic! Hidden stairs lead the way...
In the dark attic of the East wing.
Daytime view from the 'Bell Tower'
(there really wasn't a bell in it). We're looking towards the west over the roofs of the other wings.
View of the east wing from the highway, with 'bell tower'
We go back to the new southwest wing,
seen here in a 1999 renovation view.
On the roof of the new southwest wing,
looking towards the East.
The same spot on the new southwest wing roof, now turned to the north.
Straight ahead is an opening into the attic of the old west wing.
Inside the attic of the old west wing.
View of the swimming pool, with the dirt recently removed, 1999.
Glimpse of abandoned southwest wing in 1997,
before the renovation.
Thanks for touring the White House Hotel with the
Dominoes After-Midnight Club!.
Uncanny Luck - On our first daytime lurks in 1997-1998, we found the separate Service buildings such as this one still standing. Within months, they would be demolished.
