With
a repertoire leaning heavily toward 70’s acoustic pop (Carole
King, Neil Young, Carly Simon), SilverBird is worth
leaving the comforts of home to hear. This is a band for more than
one generation to enjoy; those who actually lived the 70’s
and those who were educated with the help of their parents’
favourite LP collections.
Featuring Karen Phillips, alternating between
piano and bass guitar, Yohanna Vanderkley on vocals
and Brad Arthur on guitar and bass guitar, the
band rocks (albeit somewhat gently) as a trio without the aid of
a drummer.
