be able to do this trick? how do you spring your body
up? I don't know where to practice, on the ground or

Hi, I'm a student of Tae Kwon Do. It makes me very flexible, so I can do a lot of flips. But there are two that I can't seem to do. I am too scared to attempt the back handspring, and I also can't find the courage to do a backflip. How did you manage to learn to do it? If you can send me instructions it would boost my confidence and it might erase my fear of doing one. Please help me, as this means a whole lot to me. Thanks.

hey just wanted to let you know it seems as if your gifs past flashkick are not working all of the 540 varitions and so on. also if you have any hints or tips on how to do a 540 double please let me know it is a jump inside crescent to hook kick in case you know it as something else thanx.

We've said this at almost every junction and in every possible way imaginable, check out our Trickionary section for your specific trick help... The step by step and the diagnosis for problems and tips are all there listed.  As for the animated GIFs, it was already stated in the Trickionary FAQ. But for the people who don't bother to read, the animated GIFs work on a bandwidth-usage per hour basis. The more people view it in one hour, the more bandwidth will be used. Once it goes over the limit, the GIF will be temporarily disabled and then re-enabled in another hour by geocities.

yo i was wondering if the vids are up and also if not,
when they will be up, i want to download them :)

The Trailers and Full forms at this point will no longer be hosted. Since we are all in an internet space problem right now, were looking for ways to host our trailers and full forms. You can still find small video clips of the oX doing tricks and you will also find other small video clips such as Mitch break dancing, or the Wushu Nationals.

Hello...I'm new and all with the tricks and I got the Quip up All down in like four days now I want to know if you could tell me some beginning moves?

How did you get here in the first place? What do you think this site is in the first place? This is what the majority of our site is dedicated to, to teach and help people with tricks so if you didn't even see that then I'm not sure what else we can do to help. We can't simply tell you what to start on, every person is different and will not start or even progress in the same manner. please check out the BASICS discussed in the Trickionary and that is your best starting point.

I constantly work out everyday to condition my body. TO keep this simple are there any exercises that will help strengthen the body for it to perform a kip up better besides the momentum of doing the move?

Great, a topic that we can actually discuss in more detail! The most important parts of the body in the kip up are the legs, abs, and shoulders. You must have flexible and strong legs so practice butterfly stretches and upper quad stretches. For the abs, do more crunches to strengthen the abs. If your abs are weak, your back will be weak and there is no way you will be able to arch enough to land feet first and then have the subsequent strength to un-arch after completion. The shoulders are not essential but will help even when no-hand kip ups are involved. your shoulders are used to help propel your body vertically, and even with out hands, you shoulders are used to roll off of the floor. (remember, they are the last thing to leave the ground.)

Subject: Tricks and Flips in one place?

Date: Tue 26 Mar 2002 10:43:15 -0500

Thanks for the excellent overview of tricks n flips.  I've been interested
in gymnastics in martial arts for years, but only now found information on
neokarate! (I'm a 3rd degree in TKD).
Anyway, I'd like to print a list of your instructions so I can review from
my garage or dojang where I will be trying many of these tricks.  Do you
have a list of each trick and its information in one place?  (similar to:
http://www.combastics.com/lingo/printable.shtm)
Such a thing would be useful to me and to your other viewers as well!
Thanks for a great site!

A great idea, currently we dont have plans to do that just yet, because not all of our pages are complete, and our list of tricks still continues to grow to this day. Something we might look into for the future though so thanks for the suggestion.

heloz there...

jus a quick intro abt myself: 16 yrs, living in perth (western australia), male, tricking history: 10 days :P

im wondering if you guys have any tips on how to do vertical spins in the air, eg your 720 and 540 triples.... you guys can stay in the air for so long and make so many rotations.. how did u guys get to tis stage? any recomended progressions.... (soz for sounding so newb... i am a newb :P)

great job on the website also... helped me learn a kipup :)

We thought that Emails regarding "animated GIF not working" or "what trick do I start with" was too much and we couldn't put them all up here. Man we get this almost 3 times as much as the first two. As a result, we can't put everything up either, it would fill up just too much. If you guys want to spin more, go to the Trickionary and its states tips and hints there!

Subject: Where are you located? I would like to learn how to do many of these kicks!

Date: Tue 14 Jan 2003 11:17:53 -0600

I'm ----- ------, I've done ATA taekwondo for almost 13 years now. I'm 19 years old right now.  I have been teaching taekwondo for a very long time and I love it, however, I am at the point where no other instructor around can teach me how to do anything that I don't already know.  I'm really into jumping and spin kicks.  The "star kick" is one that I've been working on recently.  It is a kick that I made up and then noticed that someone had already done it on your website.  It seems like I am not the only one in the world that is trying to evolve the sport.  I also focus on doing 3 different kicks in the air in one jump.  I would love the opportunity to train with anyone that knows how to do all of these kicks that are on the website.  Where would I be able to do this?  Do you guys have a school to train in?  I am from central Illinois and I would travel quite a ways to learn and pay whatever it would cost, but of course I'd probably have to save some money before I did this.  If there is a place near me that I would be able to train to do this stuff, then PLEEEEASE tell me.  This is exactly what I'm wanting to do.  Thanks for your time, ----- ------.

Well we cant help you with the place, since we are not situated in Illinois but an open gym with a bunch of your TKD buddies may come in handy. You can start training with them, even outside in the yard or in the gym at school. whatever you can do to train in anywhere would really help. Thanks for all of the compliments.

hello, my name is --- im just wondering what the whole Archelbolic time chamber thing was about. my friend just told me about it and it sounds like rubbish. please enlighten me on the whole affiar ASAP
thanks

HAHA its just that my man. Its fictional and should not be taken seriously. If you watch Anime, then you will notice the similarities to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber (Room of Space and Time) from the anime series Dragonball and Dragonball Z. It is only a fictional homage and satire to that specific locale and should not be taken seriously.

Subject: Billy Backflip

Date: Thu 27 Mar 2003 05:07:18 +0000

Reading your back handspring tutorial, I noticed that the Bill

backflip tutorial did not exist. This may be a stupid question, but

what is a Billy Backflip? I'd appreciate it if you replied.

We get asked this question a lot. At least once a week. We didnt know the actual name of this move, but nicknamed it a billy backflip cause we knew a guy named billy who first showed it too us. its a capoeira move. hard to explain, but its sort of a back handspring where you throw one arm back, touch the floor and then the other arm comes over followed by the rest of your body. make sense? It's called a valdez I believe. That's the gymnastics name for it. Capoeristas called it maccaco.   Hope that helps.

Subject: What are you talking about?

Date: Thu 8 May 2003 13:23:53 -0400

What the hell are you talking about? I just read your
little quirp about America being the reason for all of
the problems today including SARS and the war.

well for your information, If it wasn't for America a
lot of things such as freedom, technology, democracy,
and many of those 3rd world countries wouldn't be in
the state that they are today!!

China is not a budding economy. if it was, why are
they still having problems with their population?
(population control) why are they having so many
deaths and occurances of the SARS virus? Wasn't it a
china man that brought the virus into North America? I
think it makes obvious sense then who the real
culprits are.

Please research your ideas before you make large
accusations on the internet. I know its freedom of
speech but a lot of the things you've said are
wrongfully said.

Haha!! This is a funny one we just got a few days ago! I guess some people actually do visit the board and read our topics, they just never post anything. this is what we mean... Hmm, too much to debate at this point I think I'll give it more time to flourish, we'll write back to him/her and then see what type of response we get back. Stay tuned.
