Poly; our pride and joy, was born April
13, 1998 somewhere around 2:30 - 3pm. My wife found his now
deceased mother Pepper in the bedroom giving birth to a litter
of puppies. It was totally unexpected.
Just 8 days earlier we had carried her to
a vet 30 miles away as none locally were open on a Wednesday afternoon
to give her and Hot Stuff their shots. We felt that Pepper was pregnant
but the vet said she felt no puppies and was sure Pepper was not pregnant.
Anyway there were 4 pups in the litter - 2 stillborn, Poly and another,
The other pup passed away days later and left us with only the dear heart from that litter that this page is dedicated to.
I have always been so proud of Poly that I kept his image on my wallpaper for my PC's desktop at the insane asylum.
Poly is a
sweet loving dog like his mother was and we treasure him just
as much as we treasure the memories of Pepper. But he is a male dog and
true to form like most male dogs we have raised over the years; he like
his poppa Hot Stuff loves to knock over the garbage can and scatter the
content all over the house and do other mischief. One vet said
that is Poly and Stuff's way of getting even with me and my wife for us
going off and leaving them in the house. They love to ride with us
in the truck. So turning the garbage over REALLY is their revenge for not getting to go with us whenever we leave the house.
Poly can be the sweetest male dog at times.
Poly now wont leave my side even if I am just going to a convenience store to grab a diet coke and a sprite zero.
